Become A Part Of Something More Than Yourself
The Impakt foundation was born as a way for individuals to be a part of something more than themselves; it was created out of a need to help the struggling youth of our world and a hope that people can see the need and want to help. By supporting worthy causes and leading with your actions, you can help The Impakt Foundation create a more peaceful, healthy and hopeful future for children around the globe. Through our fund raising missions and athletic programs, it is our hope that our vision will be realized and those in need will be taken care of in the manner they deserve.
About The Founders
Josh Garth was born in Waverly, Iowa and moved to Oregon, Wisconsin (just outside of Madison) at an early age; he then migrated to Omaha, Nebraska where he still resides. Josh is a Commercial Loan Officer with American National Bank and in his free time is a freelance web designer. He is married to his wife Alyssa and has a son, Finnian, two Australian Shepherds named Bella and Harry, and a cat named Leelu. One of his major passions is basketball, and sports in general, and through that passion he and Ervin Youmans created the Impakt Foundation in hopes of bettering the lives of at risk and in need children through sports. The first fund-raising efforts made by the Impakt Foundation were to benefit pediatric cancer patients at the Nebraska Medical Center; Josh’s wife Alyssa is the nurse manager for the Cancer Treatment Center and over time had expressed the medical center’s desire for donations to save certain programs. It took one meeting with Judy Booth at the medical center to realize the Journey Beads program was needed to help the children going through cancer treatment realize what they’ve been through and understand that they can beat anything, including cancer. Bettering the lives of children shouldn’t be a chore and to Josh it isn’t, it’s a passion.
Ervin was born and raised in Hobbs, New Mexico. He spent most of this free time playing sports, especially basketball. He attended Hobbs High School, where he was a standout player on the basketball team. Thanks to his talent, he was given a full ride scholarship to play basketball throughout his college years. In 2008, he graduated from the University of North Dakota with his Bachelor’s degree. He currently works as a property manager of commercial and residential businesses. Ervin has a strong passion for helping the youth of today. He hopes that through the Impakt Foundation, he and Josh can give back to the community and help children succeed in achieving their dreams and goals.
